Get the whole family down at Colours of the Forest and enjoy the festival’s green theme and many Instagrammable backdrops. Check out the handcrafted ornaments of the rainforest hanging from the sky art waterfall and don’t miss the Community Club’s ground floor transformed into a landscape teeming with sculptures of contemporary plants and wildlife.

Love and Duty – Mozart’s Il Re Pastore (6 & 8 Jul 2018)

This weekend, you get a chance to listen to some of Singapore’s best young singers, accompanied by The Young Musicians’ Foundation Orchestra. Don’t miss the adaptation of Mozart’s early masterpiece, Il Re Pastore, by the Opera People’s inaugural production. In this contemporary update, the classical conflict between love and power is played out against the backdrop of inter-generational struggles and the dynamics of control within an extended family.

Around The World In 80 Minutes (7 July 2018)

Follow the NUS Alumni Orchestra on an auditory tour as they explore the heroic acts of Prince Igor in Russia, dance along to English folk songs, participate in the rodeo with American cowboys, join in the celebrations of the Chinese tribes, and finally travel back home to the familiar South-East Asian sounds we grew up with. This is a trip you will definitely not want to miss!

The Young Company Writers 2018 (7 July 2018 – 20 October 2018)

Starting this weekend, embark on a 16-week course that gives you a chance to learn new writing skills harness your imagination, and structure your very first play. Through community-based learning, you can also find mutual support with fellow writers and contribute to a platform for new and local writing to be heard. The exciting finale of this programme will be a presentation of your work, performed by SRT’s The Young Company Actors, under the direction of Daniel Jenkin

Artists in Conversation: Size Matters – A Question of Scale (7 July)

Join artists from the current group exhibition at Chan Hori Contemporary in discussing their ideas and challenges faced in relation to the exhibition theme of SIZE MATTERS: A Question of Scale and how they examine size/scale within their artistic practices. The exhibition opens up questions of agency and gets artists thinking and talking about what it means to be involved in the creation, circulation and reception of visual art.
