The University Cultural Centre (UCC) at the National University of Singapore will reopen this month after a six-month renovation project. The venue boasts a 1,600-seat UCC Hall and a 425-seat UCC Theatre, which offers another premiere mid-sized venue for theatre productions. Says Sharon Tan, director of NUS Centre for the Arts, “For audiences, the new seating, climate controls and other facilities will be most apparent, but there are also many key improvements behind the scenes. We took the opportunity to incorporate automation and other industry-leading features for production teams; and the overall environmental footprint of the venue has also been reduced.”
Upcoming shows include The Groove Merchant by NUS Jazz Band (2 March), #HumansofSynergy: 40 Years in the Making by NUS Dance Synergy (23-24 March), and InTempo 2018 Celebrations! by the NUS Wind Symphony (25 March).
