Bukit Panjang Public Library at Bukit Panjang Plaza re-opened on 1 July 2017 after a 10-month closure.

The revamped library has an 85% increase in floor space and sports a contemporary new look. Interesting features include an immersive storytelling room for children with snazzy visual, light and sound features, along with customised reading spaces for patrons of all ages.  There will also be volunteer-run space for book-related events and discussion areas with the idea that a library is meant to bring people together. Look out also for the “book mountains”, where readers climb up a ramp and explore new books along the way.

This re-opening is in line with NLB’s strategy to make libraries more accessible by being located in shopping malls or town hubs. Tampines Regional Library will be reopening at Our Tampines Hub in August 2017, and Bukit Merah Public Library will be moving to VivoCity next year.
