MICapella Tops Int’l A Capella Competition

Homegrown bilingual vocal band MICapella recently emerged as the first prize winner of the Moscow Spring A Cappella Festival that took place from April 28 to May 9 2017.

Over 167 choirs and vocalist groups from around the world competed in this singing competition, hailing from countries such as Russian, Ukraine, the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden and Georgia. MICapella was the only Asian group participating at this festival.

MICapella made its debut in 2009 when it competed in The Sing-Off (Chinese edition) and was placed second.  Its current members are Eugene Yip (Baritone), Calin Wong (Alto), Juni Goh (Tenor), Tay Kexin (Soprano), Goh Mingwei (Bass) and Peter Huang (Vocal Percussions). It is regarded as one of Asia’s leading vocal bands and is signed on with Universal Music Group.
