Patrick Brown will talk about his WPP winning image, and cover the following topics:
• The ethics of death: how to tell a story respectfully while still covering the horror
• The ethics of telling horrible personal accounts
• How to tell a story when everything has happened in the past – the motif and format
• Why does long-term coverage matter, when measured up against sounds bits, the well-known 140 characters and the ever rolling juggernaut of social media

Patrick Brown is the recipient of the 3P Photographer Award, World Press Award – a 3rd place, Days Japan Award, Picture Of The Year Award, and NPPA’s Best of Photojournalism Award for his work. His work has been exhibited at the International Centre of Photography in New York, the Metropolitan Museum of Photography in Tokyo, and Visa pour l’Image in France.
