Open Call for Submissions to Manuscript Assessment Scheme (and Manuscript Bootcamp) by Sing Lit Station

MASS will accept manuscripts by writers at any stage of their career, regardless of publication history.

MASS will also accept manuscripts in the hands of publishers seeking additional feedback for their Singaporean authors. Manuscripts in three genres (poetry, fiction, non-fiction) and of various lengths will be considered for submission.

External readers will sift through submissions and recommend deserving manuscripts to be subsidised for TLC feedback.

Up to 40 manuscripts across all genres may be awarded subsidy over the two application cycles in 2019. In addition, poetry manuscripts sent in by writers with no prior full-length publication history in poetry will also be considered for Sing Lit Station’s pinnacle development programme, Manuscript Bootcamp 2019 (Poetry).

Such manuscripts have to be at least 20 poems or pages (for long poems / sequences) long.

The best 12 poetry manuscripts will be shortlisted for the Bootcamp, with a final list of 4-6 participants selected by a separate external judging panel.

This opportunity complements feedback from overseas-based TLC consultants with face-to-face feedback from Singapore-based writers, editors, publishers and literary professionals at the Bootcamp.

Selected poets will be given the choice of accepting both, one, or neither of these opportunities.
