Minimalism: Space.

Light.

Object.

ArtScience Museum and National Gallery Singapore are collaborating for the first time to present the region's first and largest exhibition investigating the origins and the legacies of Minimalism.

Set across two sites, over 150 works will offer a comprehensive survey of the history and legacy of the art movement, which continues to influence a wide range of art forms and practitioners.

ArtScience Museum will present a thematic exhibition that focuses on the relationship between Minimalist art and perception as well as the relationship with science and universe.

It places a strong emphasis on Asian artists who have engaged with minimalism and created simple yet meaningful works.

The exhibition also pays tribute to female artists such as Carmen Herrera and Mary Miss who have made pioneering contributions to the Minimalist movement.

The Gallery's exhibition will explore the development of Minimal art and ideas from the 1950s to the present day, tracing its shift from painting to sculpture and then to spatial installations and immersive environments.
