Art of the Rehearsal, the video installation that made its debut at National Museum of Singapore’s Gallery 10 earlier this year, will now be making its way to Venice as part of a group exhibition titled Personal Structures. This exhibition is organised by the Global Art Affairs Foundation and hosted by European Cultural Centre, and is part of a fringe programme of the 57th Venice Biennale.

The three-channel immersive video installation by multidisciplinary fine artist Sarah Choo  depicts Singaporean dancers across various cultures practicing along the back lanes of cultural districts in the city.

“It is exceptionally humbling to be exhibiting alongside other artists from different cultures at such a significant platform. Beyond providing significant exposure for Singaporean artists, global platforms are, more importantly a space where critical dialogue amongst practitioners and their audience are encouraged. This opportunity provides a pivotal recognition for the immense and hard work ensured by my team,” Choo told The A List.

Art of the Rehearsal will be on display from 13 May till 26 November 2017 at the historic Palazzo Bembo in Venice, Italy.
