The Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) line-up was announced earlier this week with an eclectic line-up of local and international commissions from 28 June – 9 September 2017.

This is the final year that SIFA is led by Founding Festival Director Ong Keng Sen, and promises to be a thought-provoking line-up with its chosen theme Enchantment.

“It’s about ethical generosity and being opposed to cynicism in this age of global disenchantment. Because you are enchanted with life, you still desire to create a better world for all of us to live in. The works explore how to remain engaged despite growing populist sentiments, excessive control, and how to stay connected to issues as we are faced with injustices around us,” says Ong.

Programmes vary from an intimate encounter of cooking alongside a stranger to participating in the making of an actual film as guests of a Punjabi wedding banquet.
