A Dragon Behind The Door & More!

It’s a magical time for the family as these spaces become filled with theatre, music and dance. There are also craft activities where children can weave dragons or make spotted beetle puppets.

Arts Imprints Around My Neighbourhood

Go on a musical trail with Quek Ling Kiong, Resident Conductor of Singapore Chinese Orchestra! Enjoy pop-up music performances at familiar Yishun landmarks while also learning simple drumming techniques. The trail will end at GV Yishun Cinema with a concert. Register here for this trail.

Chamber opera music gets a local, youthful touch as the Singapore Pocket Opera Theatre (SPOT) presents a highly interactive and theatrical performance of this 16th century art form.

Follow dancers and musicians as they perform this experiential piece amidst  the hustle and bustle of a hawker centre and convenience shops. The dance draws inspiration from the lost landmarks of Yishun and Sembawang such as Sultan Theatre, Naval Base and the coconut groves of Kampong Wak Hassan.

Muzik Kita – Celebrating Malay Traditional Music
by Various Artists & Arts Groups Our Tampines Hub

Fri, 17 March
6pm -10pm

Enjoy the various forms of traditional Malay music from groups such as Sri Mahligai, Sri Gemliang, Nobat Kota Singa and NADI Singapura. There will also be performers from Dikir Barat troupes, Andika Kencana and Sahabat. The audience will be invited to “Joget” (dance) with dancers to upbeat traditional songs by the ensembles.

Accomplished table soloist and Young Artist Award recipient Nawaz Mirajkar will celebrate the beauty, strength and life of the water element with a multicultural mix of Indian, Chinese and Western instruments.

Get nostalgic kampong vibes with Sri Warisan’s traditional puppet-shadow play against a jumbo screen, accompanied by live Gamelan music. Be regaled with tales of princes and yes, even modern-day superheroes. Audiences will also get to try their hand at this traditional art form!
