ACRYLIC POUR DISCOVERY WORKSHOP

Get expressive and flex your creative side at this cosy session organised by art school, Room to Imagine. Here, you’ll learn the basic techniques of pouring, puddling and dripping acrylic paint to create a dynamic piece of art.  You will get to practice on mini canvases first before creating the actual artwork on a stretched canvas with confidence. The workshop is suitable for all ages and no prior art background is required.

BUILDING THE PHOTO ARK WITH JOEL SATORE

Meet National Geographic Fellow Joel Satore – a renowned photographer, conservationist and author, as he shares his personal adventures of photographing animals from all over the world. Organised by National Geographic, Nanyang Technological University and the Singapore Zoo, Satore will delve into why he’s on a mission to capture portraits of the world’s species before they disappear, and why he believes that this world is worth saving.

DISPLACED BY GROUND COVER THEATRE

Three female immigrants from Germany, Ireland and Afghanistan, have fled to Canada at different points in time and they struggle to assimilate to their new home while trying to retain their respective traditions. “Displaced” is told through movement, original music and text and shows. This play received two nominations at the St. Ambroise Montreal Fringe Festival for “Best English Production” and “Best English Text”.

LOL WITH BISWA KALYAN RATH – LIVE IN SINGAPORE

Let one of India’s hottest comedians bring you some laughs this weekend! You might have seen Biswa in the popular YouTube series Pretentious Movie Reviews which has garnered over 14 million views. Biswa is known for his angryman-style delivery and uses his previous jobs as an engineer, graphic designer, and a coder as material for his stand-up. This performance is brought to you by LA Comedy Live.

ST. JEROME’S LANEWAY FESTIVAL 2018
