Stamford Arts Centre undergoes redevelopment to boost the traditional arts.

A new multipurpose hall for performances and rehearsals, an artist-in-residency space, and connecting walkways between buildings are just some of the features we can look forward to when the Stamford Arts Centre (SAC) at Waterloo Street reopens in mid-2018. Redeveloped at an estimated cost of $7 million, the centre will be transformed into a vibrant space with a strong focus on the traditional arts. Apart from housing traditional arts groups as part of the National Arts Council’s (NAC) Arts Housing Scheme, the SAC will also support artistic collaborations and cross-cultural content creation through hosting artists-in-residence and presenting a line-up of programmes managed by Arts House Limited, which will also manage the premises. NAC is looking at between eight to 10 arts tenants, and will hold an open call for interested arts groups later this year.
