SINGAPORE BUDGET 2017: AN ARTS BOOST

The arts sector received a boost during the recent Singapore Budget 2017. According to Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat, there will be a dollar-for-dollar matching for donations under the Cultural Matching Fund. As such, there will $150 million from the government that will go towards arts and heritage causes.

Minister Heng also brought up the vision of Singapore being a vibrant city with diverse social spaces. He mentioned that the government will continue to invest in more arts facilities and programmes across the island.
