In search of young talents in Indian music and creative writing.
The National Indian Music Competition — first organised in 1998 by the National Arts Council — is a biennial platform that identifies potential musical talents in Indian music and enables them to develop their performing skills. It also provides opportunities for young musicians to perform in a competitive environment before an international jury. Registration closes 16 January, 5pm.
The School of the Arts (SOTA) is inviting Primary 6 students, with a flair for the written word, to take part in the SOTA Primary 6 Creative Writing Competition 2017. Simply pick one of the three given prompts, and write an original short story of not more than 600 words based on it. Fifty shortlisted finalists will get to attend a short-story writing workshop at SOTA, while the top three winners stand to win cash vouchers and have their works published in SOTA’s Literary Arts Anthology of Writing. Submission closes 10 February, 5pm.
