HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS 7

Universal Studios Singapore
Ongoing on selected nights till Sun, 29 Oct, 7.30pm – late

Fancy coming face-to-face with flesh-eating zombies? For horror fans and those who like a good scream, Universal Studios Singapore has gone all out with their theme “Seven Deadlier Sins” with five haunted houses, two killer shows and two scare zones. Fancy coming face-to-face with flesh-eating zombies? Don’t miss the Zombie Laser Tag experience which incorporates brainwave technology in their headbands to sense concentration levels.

PURGATORY: IMMERSIVE OPERATIC EXPERIENCE

Theatre Practice Black Box Theatre
27 Oct – 5 Nov, 8pm

This iconic opera written by British composer Gordon Crosse gets the local treatment with an old Peranakan household setting filled with spirits re-living a family tragedy. Incidentally, singer Inch Chua will be playing one of the female spirits in this staging by L’arietta Production. Poetry, live painting, visual art, opera and devised theatre all come into play to create a hair-rising spectacle.

If the theatre is more your thing, how about watching this Halloween-themed dark comedy of adults? The play will feature a series of loosely-related stories that explore the macabre interactions between men and women. Also, anyone who comes to the show in costume will get a free drink.

NOISE INVASION FESTIVAL

Haw Par Villa
Sat, 28 Oct 6pm – 10.30pm

Celebrate the eccentric and zany at this immersive event with a creative trail where you can encounter various experimental art forms. At the same time, local musicians will be rocking the stage and there will be opportunities to paint along with street artists. Themed #GetWeird, you’re encouraged to come with friends in outrageously creative costumes to win attractive prizes!

ACM AFTER DARK

Asian Civilisations Museum
Sat, 28 Oct, 7pm – 12 midnight

It’s all about the strange and the peculiar – Asian style! There will be spooky storytelling sessions around the galleries, aerial acrobats, contortionists, mask-changing maestros and dress-up booths for the whole family to indulge in some horrific fun. You can even make your own spooky souvenir to bring home. How’s this for a night at the museum?

SPOOKY SEAS

S.E.A. Aquarium
Ongoing till Sun, 29 Oct

The Sea Witch has awakened at the S.E.A. Aquarium this Halloween to warn everybody about the frightening state of the sea today. Together with Captain Spooks, your little ones can serve as Underwater Ocean Protectors and learn more about sea animals through storytelling sessions, underwater shows and interactive game stations. There’s also a craft booth where you can colour your own environmentally-friendly tote bag!

THE LAST HOUSE ON EMILY HILL

Step into the Fear Mansion, Emily Hill’s oldest colonial house, where multi-disciplinary art studio, art gallery and publisher Kult pays homage to phobias and old wives’ tales. Upon entering, you will go through an unsettling maze that may surface any latent phobia you might have for the dark or small bumps. Upstairs, DJs will be mixing up some creepy, hollow music to add to the vibe.
