Local singer-songwriter Fym Summer is the only Singaporean musical artist that has been invited for the upcoming SXSW Music Festival 2018 this March. SXSW (South by Southwest) is one of the world’s largest creative festivals and presents a perfect opportunity for Fym to present her music to a wider international audience.
However, she will need around US$16,000 to cover flight tickets, accommodation, music equipment rental and transport.
Fym Summer was in the NOISE Singapore 2015 music mentorship programme where she worked with veteran musical artists such as Vanessa Fernandez and Leonard Soosay. She has released two EPs – “Heart” (2015) and “Luna” (2017), as well as two singles “Truth” (2016) and “July” (2015).
Other Singaporean artists who have performed in this major music festival in the past include The Sam Willows, Inch Chua, The Great Spy Experiment and Linying.
