The Select Centre, a not-for-profit registered charity that focuses on regional translation work, announced the soft launch of its online magazine, CANOPY, in December. Devoted to all things intercultural, the site features translated short stories, poetry, essays, song lyrics and videos. Literary works previously accessible only to communities that speak the language have been translated into English to reach a wider audience. For example, a short story entitled Lost Nostalgia originally written in Malay by Cultural Medallion recipient, Mohamed Latiff Mohamed, has been translated into English. New content is published weekly.
