The Maestro The Philharmonic Winds will
The Philharmonic Winds will be conducted by Principal Guest Conductor Timothy Reynish, who hails from the United Kingdom and has conducted orchestras and ensembles in numerous countries and regions, including the United States of America, Japan, Spain, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Maestro Reynish has selected a programme featuring some of the most prolific and outstanding composers from around the world including the late Derek Bourgeois and Guy Woolfenden, as well as Adam Gorb, Kenneth Hesketh, Luis Serrano Alarcón and Yasuhide Ito.
The evening’s programme include Symphony for William, composed by Bourgeois for Tim and his wife Hilary Reynish as part a commissioning project in memory of their third son, William Reynish, which has since seen a multitude of new pieces of music created for wind orchestra. Other pieces in the programme include Illyrian Dances by Woolfenden, Masque by Hesketh, Bohemian Revelry by Gorb, as well as the Asian premiere of Tim – A “British” Pasodoble by Serrano Alarcón. Another highlight of the concert is As Time Is Passing On, a symphonic poem by composer Ito, where The Philharmonic Winds will be performing together with a festival choir led by Dr Goh Toh Chai.
