In 2016, the British Chamber
In 2016, the British Chamber ran our inaugural Celebrating Diversity Photo Competition for residents of Singapore. The competition was a success in raising awareness of diversity issues, with an awards ceremony hosted in December by the Deputy British High Commissioner at the prestigious Eden Hall. Last year’s finalists were further featured in a 2017 Desktop Calendar with inspirational quotes, supported by our Diversity Sponsor Barclays. The winner in 2016 was Thomas Read, for his photo “Gender and cultural diversity in Singapore”. Find out more about the inaugural 2016 competition at britcham.org.sg/celebrating-diversity.
This year’s free-to-enter online photography competition is open to all Singapore residents over 13 years of age, as per Facebook’s age rules. The theme is “How can I change the world?” Think about what diversity means to you, how you would like the world to be more accepting in the years ahead, and how you can illustrate this through images.
Students, family members and friends are encouraged to vote for their favourite images as the most popular photo will also win a cash prize. Voting will close on the 20th October and the finalists will be announced shortly thereafter.
