A pre-festival of ideas, The O.P.E.N. is a public engagement initiative from the Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) that raises fascinating questions and offers eye-opening insights about our world and humanity. Connecting you with SIFA at the start of the Festival season, it directs you to consider a breadth of issues and perspectives inspired by this year’s festival theme of Enchantment.
Highlights at The O.P.E.N. in 2017:
Art As Res Publicae, a conference workshop raising questions on issues of choice, and the arts as a space for dialogue and critical reflection;
K. Rajagopal inspired by Balli Kaur Jaswal’s Inheritance creates a participatory film making experience in Lizard On The Wall;
Lebanese chef Kamal Mouzawak helms O.P.E.N. Inspiration. His inspiring talk sets a chain of food events in motion, beginning with O.P.E.N. Picnic, a free admission public event connecting through food and culture and then entering various kitchens in Singapore to savour enchanting stories matched with home cooked food in O.P.E.N.
