Thereabouts Theatre is proud to present Set Apart, a site-specific dance theatre performance, which investigates the impact of taboo throughout our childhood and its effect on us as adults. How does separating right from wrong encourage us to reflect on social conventions, or what we can and cannot do? Has this created a “Singaporean condition”, and how do we reconcile what sets us apart with our place within our community? Drawing from personal experiences, this performance presents snapshots of issues such as parental expectations, singleness and body image through movement and text.
