Hear the artist, gallery curators and leading experts discuss the commission, his collaborative approach to art and architecture and other related works. In response to Rirkrit Tiravanija’s new installation, this panel will discuss how architecture can bring people together in a common space to foster interactions that have the potential to transcend the physical boundaries of the space.

CURATOR TALK: INSTALLATION IN PROGRESS?: ART AND URBAN LIFE IN 1990S THAILAND
Discover how four prominent Thai artists addressed specific facets of urban life in Thailand—1990s Bangkok in particular—and explore the emergence of installation art in Thailand and Southeast Asia.

WHERE THE LIGHT SHINES THROUGH: A FILM BY NELSON YEO
This artist film is a response to and documenting of the making of Rirkrit Tirvanija’s untitled 2018 (the infinite dimensions of smallness). The film is accompanied by an introduction from the director and commissioner.

ARTIST DIALOGUE: RIRKRIT TIRAVANIJA IN CONVERSATION WITH SILKE SCHMICKL
This conversation between artist, Rirkrit Tiravanija, and National Gallery Curator, Silke Schmickl, will explore the commissioning process behind the work, the space it occupies on the roof of the National Gallery and the artist’s relational approach with his international network of collaborators.
