Propositions for a stage: 24 frames of a beautiful heaven
looks to the limits of time and the possibilities of time’s
staging. In theatre and film, the stage, set and scene provide
us with a space-time apart from the everyday: a speculative
world. In the exhibition, artists’ use of performance, film and
questions of time – as a haunting, as stasis and as a lopping
repetition – refer to multiple ideas and forms of ‘staging’, and
points to the entangled relationship between time,
technology and the worlds that it produces.
Artists include Amanda Beech, Zach Blas, Uriel Orlow,
Rabih Mroué and Ming Wong.
Curated by Bridget Crone, curator, writer and Lecturer in
