ArtsEquator is commemorating its 1st
ArtsEquator is commemorating its 1st year anniversary with a competition:
to capture a moment of art-making in a photograph accompanied by a short caption.
We want to celebrate the people who make art and the unsung labour that goes into every little detail of producing a work of art, whether it’s in the devising of a play, the installation of an exhibition, the writing process, team discussions, or the process of choreographing a dance or physical theatre piece. We are looking for snapshots of artists at work, or even caught in a moment of contemplation, reflection, anxiety as they make a work, regardless of genre or medium. But don’t be a stalker– get their permission first.
Tell us in a caption of 100-150 words what the moment captures – the more creative and interesting, the better. The judges will be looking at the quality of the image, its relevance to the theme and the way that the caption adds depth to our understanding of the process of art making.
Shortlisted entries will be featured in a photo-essay on ArtsEquator.com on 15 January 2018, and will be showcased on our homepage for the rest of the month.
The Jury Prize Winner walks away with SISTIC vouchers worth $200. The People’s Choice Winner, selected by online voting on ArtsEquator.com, also wins SISTIC vouchers worth $200.
