Happening on 24 March 2018, Difficult Women discusses what it means to be a woman in this day and age, and the perspectives / differences in experience a woman may go through across various industries. The hourly programming builds space for open, honest conversations. Panelists chosen represent different (but not all) voices within our society – across age groups, social class, industries and racial groups.
This event aims to shine light on the achievements and obstacles that women of various industries face, many of which we might not be aware of. It aims to contextualise movements like #MeToo and #TimesUp in a local setting, and brings together individuals on privileged and non privileged ends.
We’re extending the invitation to our male and gender neutral friends too. Join us in creating a more well rounded discussion and explore how we can turn our differences into strength.
The event is named after Roxane Gay’s book, which models after females who speak of privilege and poverty, are in marriages both loving and haunted by past crimes or emotional blackmail.
