Out of Print is an exhibition presented by Sing Lit Station in collaboration with graphic design firm Sarah and Schooling. Curated by poet Daryl Lim Wei Jie, this exhibition showcases the history and early development of Singapore literature alongside modern graphic design techniques, training the spotlight on literary works that might otherwise have been forgotten.
Visitors to the exhibition will learn about the historical importance of up to 20 titles
published between 1965 and 1995. The archival copies of these selected books will be artfully arranged alongside contemporary reinterpretations of their covers by Sarah and Schooling, whose large-scale works will combine various media and design approaches such as typography, illustration, photography, and varied printing
Visitors will also get to take home a piece of literary history through
informational pamphlets that unfold into large posters, cataloguing all of the
exhibition’s re-imagined covers of classic Sing Lit Titles.
