This workshop is jointly conducted by Ibu Surianty and Sriwana. Ibu Surianty, also known as Mdm Liu A Choon, is the Indonesian dance teacher who brought a repertoire of zapin choreography, among others, to Singapore in 1961.
Established in 1955, Sriwana is the oldest Malay performing arts group in Singapore. It has served as a training ground for many Singapore Malay dance practitioners, and is committed to offering fresh expressions to the embedded traditional practices of the Malay performing arts.
