Bask in i Light Marina Bay 2017

March is off to a glowing start with the upcoming i Light Marina Bay 2017, Asia’s leading sustainable light art festival. There will be 20 impressive light art installations and a range of community activities for the whole family. Here’s our pick of five installations that will bring on the megawatt smiles.

Art-Zoo by Jackson Tan (Singapore)

There are no lights for this one, but it’s too cute not to mention. Meet 11 larger-than-life inflatable installations featuring flora and fauna that represent the different letters of the alphabet. A for Awesome!

The Body of the Sea by Danny Rose (France)

The Merlion seemingly comes to life with colourful layers of light and sound that give it a surreal marine-themed texture of fish, shells, sea water and corals.

These giant peony blooms and butterflies brilliantly beam at this dazzling show to welcome spring (and leave visitors with a wistful sense of wonder).

Horizontal Interference by Katarzyna Malejka & Joachim Slugock (Poland)

A simple, stunning way to combine light with nature: tying lit cords connecting trees, which poetically merges the natural and constructed elements to breathtaking effect.

URCHIN by Choi+Shine Architects (USA)

This intricate lace structure is inspired by the sea urchin, and creates pretty patterns of light against the sky and the water.

i Light Marina Bay 2017 will be held from 3-26 March 2017 around the Marina Bay waterfront promenade. It will be open 7.30-11pm daily with an extension to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Admission is free. Click here for more details.
